Small Antique Burr Walnut Writing Bureau Desk

1900 - 1920
Description

Stunning quality antique walnut bureau with many wonderful features, so please enlarge all the images to appreciate everything. I would date it to around the 1910 period, although it does look much older. The top & flap front is cross banded around burr walnut while all the rest looks like solid walnut. The drawer fronts are beautifully shaped out & it sits on well carved feet too. The interior is lovely too, with an internal cupboard, small drawers, shaped compartments & a tooled leather writing surface. This slim bureau has warm original colour & patina, plus it's naturally distressed. The drawers are finely dovetailed & they have original brass drop handles. It also has manual pulls to support the writing surface. I obtained this from a private source & have not done anything to it, so there may be some slight imperfections in places, but nothing that needs seeing to if you like your antiques looking original.

Depth - 17.7", 45 cm

Height - 36.6", 93 cm

Knee height - 27.5", 70 cm
