Antique English Cast Brass Candlesticks - Cherubs C.1880

Description

A wonderful pair of Victorian heavy cast brass candlesticks, most unusual and highly decorative.

The square bases have a central cherub or putti figure on each corner surrounded with floral and foliate decoration. Further up the column is a square pierced or reticulated skirt with floral motifs incorporated.

The square drip trays surround the square receptacles, one of the square drip trays has a minor bend from an old knock (really insignificant but mentioned purely for accuracy). A handsome and important looking pair in excellent condition. The bases measure 5 1/2" square and stand 8 1/4" tall.
