Antique English Sterling Silver & Tortoiseshell Heart Frame - 1901

Description

A stunner of a frame and so romantic with it, perfect for that very, very special photograph.

The frame is made from English Sterling silver with a hallmark for Birmingham 1901, so very late Victorian or very early Edwardian. The makers mark is also present for the silversmith W H Wakefield.

Inside the circular frame is a polished Tortoiseshell insert with a heart shaped aperture behind this is glass to protect your cherished picture.

The back of the frame is covered in leather and retains it's original folding easel stand.

Excellent condition, overall the frame has a diameter measuring 6" with the aperture approximately measuring 3 3/4" x 4".
