Description

A fabulous pair of late Victorian wine coasters dating to around 1890. Beautifully shaped, with stunning and highly sought-after all-round pierced or reticulated decoration.

The rims are just as decorated and the front of each coaster having an integral shield shaped cartouche. The interiors retain their original fruitwood bases and the underside covered in the original fabric to protect the polished finish of a dining table.

Excellent condition, the base diameter measuring 5", the rim measuring 5 1/2" and standing 2 1/2" tall.
