A Walnut George I Period Antique Bureau Cabinet

18th century
Description

A walnut George I Period Antique Bureau Cabinet. The upper section with a cavetto shaped walnut block moulded cornice above the twin mirrored doors. Having an oak lined interior with shelves and pigeon holes and having twin oak lined candle slides. The lower section with a traditional walnut veneered fall to the bureau with herringbone feather band detail and opening to reveal a well fitted interior. Having four rectangular oak lined drawers each with walnut cross banded detail and brass swan neck handles. Supported on shaped bracket feet. English circa 1730

Dimensions: 78" high x 32" wide at cornice x 20" deep (height of the writing surface 31")

Condition: This bureau cabinet is in good original condition. Replacement swan neck handles circa 1800, one internal drawer has been replaced. Most probably had replacement mirror plates in the 19th Century. Minor spotting to the mirror plates.
