Description

A large and handsome antique George 3rd period open armchair in mahogany. This charming open armchair has a lovely crisply carved back splat in a Chippendale style design. The out-swept arms have crisply carved acanthus leaves to the hand rests and have shaped and curved. It stands on square shaped legs and has a drop in seat. It has been newly re-upholstered in a beautiful, top quality leather hide from Hulshof Royal Dutch Tanneries from the Old Saddle range in a dark reddish brown colour called wine. Lovely warm age to the mahogany, a beautiful statement piece.

Solid condition. Old mend to the upright of the back splat - quite a messy mend to the back, but solid enough. Newly reupholstered in dark brown/red leather.
