Antique Furniture Direct has dated this piece to the Edwardian era.
The chair is in a lovely figured mahogany with a deep rich brown patina. It has been newly re-upholstered in a satin feel chenille which is embroidered with sprays of flowers in red, gold and olive green.

Some slight give to the front legs. Some screw holes underneath the inside of the front legs (see photos) which have been filled with wax. A few marks to the frame commensurate with age. Newly reupholstered.
