Magnificent Large Antique English Counter or Desk Bell - Gong From, C.1880

Description

I have had a much smaller one of these, some years ago, I was thrilled this week to come across an over-sized version of this unusual bell in the form of a dinner gong.

Made from solid cast English brass, there is a push button each side of the gong which when pushed causes the clapper to hit the gong, creating a loud, pleasant but authoritative ring.

Having been professionally re-polished to it's former glory, the bell dates to around 1880 and remains in superb condition.

The feet span 8 1/2" x 6 1/4" with the gong diameter measuring 6"; standing 8 3/4" tall.
