Pair late C19th French ormolu-mounted 'rouge' marble urns. Wonderful purple figured marble bodies with ormolu bronze floral swags with rose-heads and sun-flowers, and twin loop handles, in the Louis XVI style. Stiff-leaf design cast ormolu bronze cup bases with ribbon cast ormolu mounts onto the socle base fitted to square plinths. Detachable lids with ormolu flambeau finial tops .Stunning decorative French solid marble vases and covers , with a fantastic colour not dissimilar to the illustrious and highly desirable 'Blue-John' (Derbyshire Spa) mined in England. No damage or repairs, all complete. H 17" x W (bodies) 7". France c 1880.
