Description

A charming antique 19th century bow fronted standing corner cupboard with later painting. The original cupboard dates from the early 19th century and was then probably painted during the 1930s when this was a very popular way of enhancing plainer furniture which had become less popular at that time.

With a pair of panel doors with pierced brass butterfly hinges, enclosing 3 shelves it stands on shaped bracket feet. A highly decorative piece of furniture with beautiful pale mint, murky yellow and gold paintwork which has faded and mellowed over time to give it a stunning vintage feel. A highly useful piece of furniture with lots of character, it is a stand-alone cupboard that would grace any room. It has fancy brass escutcheons and comes with a working lock and key.

Construction/Wood:

Probably Pine

Condition Report:

Nice age and mellow colour to the paintwork. Scuffs and marks commensurate with age. Small area of worm to the bottom which has been treated with worm killer as a precaution.
