Description

An interesting mid-eighteenth century jar with hand painted date to one side '1746'. Probably Italian Deruta.

Deruta is a hill town in the Province of Perugia in the Umbria region of central Italy. Long known as a center of refined maiolica manufacture, Deruta remains known for its ceramics, which are exported worldwide.

8 inches tall with various cracks and chips but still in whole form, and these do not detract from this interesting piece.
