The case, depicting two "mediaeval" explorers discoursing over a map and a globe, is of finest quality ormolu (gilded bronze) with a central emblem of a helmet and banners, flanked by laurels surrounding the initials "H" to either side. The fine 8-day day movement has silk suspension and strikes hours and half-hours via the outside count wheel on a bell, whilst the original, signed, convex enamel dial and the blued steel "Breguet" moon hands are perfect.
A magnificent and most eye-catching clock which measures 16ins (38cms) wide.
