Fowey River Antiques has dated this piece to the 1950s.
This is a very rare oversize model measuring 37mm in diameter not including the crown which makes this highly desirable. Almost all of these oversize watches which come onto the market have paper thin aftermarket 18ct gold cases but this one is a genuine and rare Longines manufactured heavy weight case and should not to be confused with these lightweight examples.

The watch movement is the Longines calibre 27 with 17 jewels manual wind, beautifully made, totally reliable and as you can see it is in fabulous like new condition.
The ivory coloured dial is in excellent condition with very slight aging. It has gilt hands, numerals and baton markers again all original. A new glass has been fitted and the case has been professionally polished this is a watch that looks and performs like new.

As you would expect the watch is fully marked on the dial, movement and case.
It comes complete with a new premium quality chestnut brown leather strap but a black leather strap can be fitted if you prefer.

It comes with a Longines presentation box to keep your watch in perfect condition although this is not original to the watch.
Longines are one of the most exclusive watchmakers in the world and this watch certainly has that understated elegance that whispers class.

The serial number on the movement dates this watch to 1953-54.
Overall this watch is in superb original condition, it looks as if it was rarely worn.
The watch has been fully serviced and is guaranteed to be a genuine Longines in all respects. It has been professionally overhauled, the process is highly detailed and meticulous.

It is stripped down to its component parts and each part is examined under a microscope for signs of wear, any worn parts are replaced with genuine manufacturers parts. Each part is then thoroughly cleaned in a three stage ultrasonic cleaning process.

The movement is then fully assembled using manufacturers approved oils and lubricants and is carried out in a clean room environment. The movement is then checked and adjusted for accurate time keeping. The cases are polished and sealed.

Obviously this is not a cheap or quick process which is why our watches are sometimes a little more expensive than others but you can be assured our watches will give you reliable and dependable service and will not require further service for many years.

The watch movement comes with a full 1 year warranty.
