Christian Davies Antiques Ltd has dated this piece to the 1900s.
The lower section with a cylinder front having a beautiful marquetry and penwork inlaid panel, cross banded in satinwood. The sloping fall front similarly inlaid but with a central marquetry panel depicting musical instruments. The interior has well fitted compartments and drawers with a green leather writing surface, is accessed by an ingenious mechanism which opens the cylinder whenever the drawer is opened. The mahogany lined frieze drawer having ribbon and garland marquetry and penwork detail, raised on mahogany square tapering supports united by a shaped under tier, probably made by Edwards & Roberts Of London circa 1890-1900

Condition: This cabinet is in excellent condition, restored, re-polished and re-lined in watermark silk
