Elmgarden has dated this piece to the 19th Century.
When the top is pulled forward and the front let down we can see the fitted interior of pigeon holes and stationary drawers, the fall forms a writing desk and below there are two more very deep storage drawers
The top of the chest has a moulded edge, there are square columns down each side of the desk and it sands on turned wooden feet, the original escutcheons are Ivory but the brass handles have been replaced
This is a rare piece indeed, it is made from the best quality pine, it has been stripped and waxed, there are no signs of woodworm only the usual dings acquired with age
The Secretaire is 47” high, 47” wide and 24” deep, the desk top height is 29”
