Description

A small, rarer 9" dial dropdial fusee wall clock. A fine rosewood case with choice veneers and carved leaf decorations. A cast brass bezel to the painted dial signed 'Ferris, Calne'. An 8-day duration fusee mechanism. An off-set winding arbour. Circa 1850.

David Ferris of Calne (Wiltshire) is recorded in Young's 'Wiltshire Clock and Watchmakers' book as working from 1840-1890.
