Description

A good quality mid-19th century TUNBRIDGE-WARE WRITING SLOPE in excellent condition.

The centre is inlaid with a marquetry panel of a "castle" (perhaps Penshurst Place) on a satinwood background and within a wide border of marquetry flowers and leaves. The lids open to reveal the fitted interior with two ink bottles; lidded compartment; pen tray; green baize writing surface and working key. 12ins (30.5cms) wide.
