Large Antique Victorian Oak Revolving Bookcase Dated 1899

Description

A large antique Victorian revolving bookcase in solid oak with adjustable lift lid and presentation plaque dated 1899. It has 8 compartments for books with 4 sets of full length slats down each side. The top lifts to reveal a small storage area of folios, magazines, documents, reading glasses etc. and is held in place by a patented internal support bracket. To the top there is a presentation plaque which reads: "Presented to rev William Stott by the Church & Congregation of Battersea Park Tabernacle March 31st 1899". It rests on a cross pedestal which stands on casters for ease of movement.

Good condition. Solid some marks commensurate with age. Split across the top but no gap.
