A Fine and Unusual Tunbridge-ware Tea Caddy

Description

A very good quality 19th century TUNBRIDGE-WARE TEA CADDY of unusual design.

The top features twin marquetry panels of birds perched on branches and these flank a central panel of a posy of flowers. To the front is a panel of a marquetry Spaniel, whilst further panels of birds can be found to each side.

The lid opens to reveal two original tin canisters within the multi-strung marquetry chequered borders. 9ins (22.75cms) wide. A very fine caddy.
