Antique Furniture Direct has dated this piece to the 18th Century.
At some point in its life its feet have been removed, and replacements added along with supporting brackets. Very solid, it would make an ideal toy box, linen chest or coffee table.

Solid condition. Some old mends to the top and base commensurate with age. Split to one panel on the top small split to front. There is evidence of some old worm holes to the bottom/ bottom cross stretchers which has been treated with worm killer as a precaution. At some point in its life its feet have been removed, and replacements added along with supporting metal brackets.
