Antique Late Victorian Astragal Glazed Mahogany Secretaire Bookcase C1890

Superb Antique Late Victorian Astragal Glazed Mahogany Secretaire Bookcase and dating from around 1890. Constructed from quality mahogany it has a cornice top above a cross banded frieze and with two astragal glazed doors with original bevelled glass and with original brass handle and and working key and three internal adjustable shelves. To the base there is a long carved stylised panel with working key and which opens to reveal a very nice interior with central letter rack and inkwell and pen tray flanked on either side by assorted compartments and with two small drawers. It has its original faux leather skiver. There are two slim drawers both of which are mahogany lined with original brass handles and above two fielded panelled doors with original brass handles and working key and with internal shelf. It stands on bracket style feet and the top separates from the base for ease of transporting.

Measures: 92" high x desk height 30" x 17" deep x internal depth (top) 9.5" x 46" wide
