Atropos Antiques has dated this piece to the 1860s.
the drawers all have closely fitted glazed frame drop in tops and are corked and papered to the base. A hidden universal cell surrounds the inner drawer space.

The door mirrors are original and show some 'foxing' all commensurate with the age of this beautiful antique.
This cabinet was originally designed to house a collection of british butterflies but will lend itself admirably to a multitude of collecting pursuits.

The use of walnut was not common in such furniture due to cost. This highly figured walnut cabinet is of fine quality and will be appreciated by all antique enthusiasts.
