Fowey River Antiques has dated this piece to the 1920s.
This is an extremely rare model with a rectangular shaped case, very much of the Art Deco era.
The sides of the case have wonderful chasing or engraving which is always a sign of the highest quality as the attention to detail is superb.
The silver coloured dial is unmarked, a new scratch resistant mineral glass has been fitted and the case professionally polished so it looks pristine.
It has a 15 jewel adjusted to three positions movement which is of the highest quality and as you can see it is in fabulous condition.
It looks as though the watch was rarely worn and is an extremely rare find indeed.
The case measures 17mm x 33mm without the winding crown and because of the size it can easily be worn by either a lady or gentleman.
The watch comes with a high quality wooden presentation box to keep it in perfect condition.
It would certainly make a perfect birthday, anniversary or Christmas gift.
As you would expect from Tavannes the watch is fully marked on the dial, movement and the case has a full set of continental hallmarks. There is an inscription of AL on the back of the case but obviously this is never seen when worn.
It has a new premium grade black leather strap.
The watch movement has just been fully serviced and is guaranteed to be a genuine Tavannes in all respects by Simon Batchelor MBHI. This watch has been fully and professionally overhauled, the process is highly detailed and meticulous.
The watch is stripped down to its component parts and each part is examined under a microscope for signs of wear, any worn parts are replaced with genuine manufacturers original parts. every part is then thoroughly cleaned in a 3 stage ultrasonic cleaning process.
The movement is then fully assembled using manufacturer approved oils and lubricants and is carried out in a clean room environment. The watch movement is then checked and adjusted for accurate time keeping. The cases are polished and the watch sealed.
Obviously this is not a cheap or quick process which is why our watches are sometimes a little more expensive than others but you can be assured our watches will give reliable and dependable service and will not require any further attention for many years.
Tavannes are one of the most exclusive watchmakers in the world and this watch certainly has that understated but elegant look.
The watch movement comes with a full 1 year warranty.
