Fowey River Antiques has dated this piece to the 1860s.
The attention to detail is quite remarkable, her facial expression, curls in her hair and folds in her robes is simply quite beautiful. The gilding and chasing is very bright and crisp. This was made by P H Mourey who was one of the premier French sculptures of his time.

The early outside countwheel movement is by Japy Freres one of the best clockmakers, it strikes on the hours and half hours on a delicate small tuned bell. It is of course fully marked with the Japy Freres gold medal winning stamp

The white enamel dial is perfect. The case is made of white alabaster which compliments the gilt decoration beautifully.
It comes with its original pendulum and key.
The movement is in excellent clean and running condition having just been fully serviced.

A most beautiful and sweet clock which will give great pleasure.
