Early 18thc. walnut bureau fitted a well and stepped interior

Here we have a superb example of an early 18th century walnut and line inlaid walnut bureau. The fall opens to reveal a great interior that is stepped and with a well. There are secret compartments under the 2 lower interior drawers as well as in the interior cupboard.

The interior has the early feature of a well, but un-usually it has a lifting flap instead of the regular sliding section.

Below the fall the bureau is fitted 2 short and 2 long drawers, all with lovely oak lining.

The the fall, drawer fronts, the top and sides are cross-banded in walnut.
