oil on cavas 18"x 25"/ 46cmx64cm
Quality gesso and giltwood gallery frame : 58cmx74cm
One of the large oils he painted just before subscription to the Army during WW1.
Gunn painted and travelled throughout Spain during this early period of his development as an artist.
Here he has chosen to paint plein air a plateau landscape on his way to Toledo on a fine day.
Gunn has created an incredible feeling of space and light using minimal pictoral devices.
It really is a pure study of the terrain of the area and the palette is typical of his Spanish landscapes.
Good original condition.
