Christian Davies Antiques Ltd has dated this piece to the 1900s.
The frieze with Greek key moulding and applied teardrop mouldings. The doors with cencentric glazing bars which are individually putted in, as they would have been in the 18th Century. The lower bureau section with a mahogany veneered fall front opening to reveal a beautiful stepped fitted interior, with a central mirrored door, flanked by corinthium columns (Secret drawers)and further pigeon holes and drawers at each side. Retaining the original baize lined writing surface and with four graduating rectangular drawers all oak lined, with typical Chippendale Style cast brass handles. The ends in solid mahogany with quarter reeded Corinthium columns, supported on shaped ogee bracket feet. English circa 1900-1910
