Antique English Sterling Silver Matchbox Cover - Golf - 1903

Description

A wonderful and scarce style of a sterling silver matchbox cover with the lid with a wonderful Golfing motif.

The box stands on four original ball feet. A custom matchbox has been skillfully reconfigured to fit, the matches will have to be removed to ship so you will just need to refill the box with safety matches.

The sterling silver is fully hallmarked for Birmingham 1903, making it an Edwardian example. The makers initials are also present for the well renowned silversmith, Henry Matthews.

Excellent condition, measuring 2 7/8" x 2" x 1 3/8" tall.
