Outstanding solid 9ct gold gents pocket watch by the premier Swiss maker Cyma Tavannes.
The 15 jewel watch movement is just superb, as you can see it is in fabulous like new condition.
A new glass fitted and the case professionally cleaned and polished so it is absolutely pristine.
There are various service marks on the inside of the case one for 1941 and another for 1953.
It comes with its original 9ct gold watch chain and presentation box from S J Crabb of Glasgow.
The hallmarks are for Edinburgh c1939.
The watch case is 48mm in diameter and the chain is 19 inches long.
Cyma Tavannes is one of the most premier watch makers and this watch certainly has that understated elegance that whispers class, certainly this is by far the best Art Deco pocket watch we have ever come across.
Overall this watch is in outstanding near mint condition, it looks as if it was rarely worn, it would make the perfect gift for any man.
If being over critical there is a very slight mark on the dial but this in no way detracts from the watch, it is our job to restore as opposed to replace to keep its authenticity.
The watch has just been fully overhauled and serviced. It has been fully authenticated and found to be a genuine Cyma in all respects. This watch has been fully and professionally overhauled, the process is highly detailed and meticulous
The watch is stripped down to its component parts and each part is examined under high magnification for signs of wear, any worn parts are replaced with genuine manufacturers original parts. every part is then thoroughly cleaned in a 3 stage ultrasonic cleaning process.
The watch movement is then fully assembled using manufacturer approved oils and lubricants and is carried out in a clean room environment. The watch movement is then checked and adjusted for accurate time keeping. the cases are polished and the watch sealed, in the case of waterproof watches a full waterproof pressure test is carried out to manufacturers specification.
Obviously this is not a cheap or quick process which is why our watches are sometimes a little more expensive than others but you can be assured our watches will give reliable and dependable service and will not require any further attention for many many years.
The watch movement comes with a full 1 year warranty.
