Description

Fabulous pair of large antique Edwardian carved mahogany wing armchairs upholstered in green leather. They are in lovely original condition with crisp carvings on beautifully shaped frames. I'm not sure if the leather is original or not, because it's in such wonderful condition, but it could be. You can feel the crisp horse hair underneath the upholstery. They are well upholstered, hand tacked & have generous proportions, so are very comfortable. The mahogany frames are sturdy & in good original condition. There are some slight openings on the top corners of the wings, due to shrinkage, but there is no movements & it's no untoward. There is some fading mainly on the arms & a few small nicks around those parts, which is normal for chairs over 100 years old, but generally speaking I don't think they need touching. These armchairs also have original porcelain casters. Please enlarge all the images to appreciate the quality.
