Description

A really stunning box with a striking design to the top and front will alternative panels or stripes of Rosewood and Satinwood veneer. The sides and back created from exotic Rosewood.

The front has a Mother of Pearl or Nacre shell escutcheon housing a working tasselled key. The interior has been relined in an Italian hand marbled paper creating a fresh and very usable box. These make great desk-top boxes for either a lady or gentleman.

Excellent condition dating to around 1830; 9 3/4" x 3 1/2" x 2 7/8".
