Fowey River Antiques has dated this piece to the 1860s.
The casting and attention to detail is quite staggering with the laurel wreath to the centre and then the beautiful urn chenets to each side one depicting an image of Napoleon and the other of Josephine- very classic French design and extremely elegant.

It has been professionally restored with the brass being bright and crisp whilst retaining the patina which you would expect, it is also extremely heavy.
It measures a minimum width of 30" up to a maximum of 51", height is 14" and depth is 7"

It is rare to find a fender in such amazing condition and would look stunning placed in front of any period fireplace.
