A beautiful antique French cartel wall in the style of Louis XVI. Seated on the top of the case is a charming figure of a cherub holding a dove.
Both the modelling of the brass and the finish are superb and the clock displays very well. The dial is enamel in copper and is complete with the original fretted brass hands.

The French movement is by A. D. Mougin and is of excellent quality. The Mougin mark is on the movement backplate. It has been fully overhauled by our clockmaker who has replaced the missing pendulum. It runs for 8 days and strikes the hours and halves on a bell, click the movie below to see and hear the movement.

The finish of the case is excellent - bright and clean. There are some minor areas of wear or discoloration. The dial is in very good condition. We have replaced the velvet backing of the sound frets.
