Floral carving to the top and frame together with bands of flower-head carving. Leaf-carved and turned legs with bulbous carved feet.Incorporates typical Indian architectural design elements such as the 'Jali ' or 'Pinjra' open-work ,though probably made for the European market in demand from such retailers as Tiffany or Libertys for the fashionable 'Orientalist' style. Quality timber and in mint condition. Made in Northern India , probably Simla or Kashmir. H 28 "x Dia.(Edge to edge)25 ". India c 1890.
