A Fine Rosewood Specimen Top Table

Description

A fine Rosewood single drawer side table, attributed to Gillows of Lancaster, circa 1830. The specimen top made with various exotic timbers, raised on superb carved acanthus leaf and reeded tapering legs, retaining the high quality copes brass cup castors. Having a polished finish to all 4 sides, the drawer Mahogany lined. Superb colour and quality throughout.

Dimensions: Height: 28 1/2 Inches - 72.5cm, Width: 22 1/2 Inches - 57cm, Depth: 19 1/2 Inches - 49.5cm

*footnote: Gillows were renowned for producing pieces to show off the exotic timbers that they were importing from around the world. The most famous example was a small work box made for Elizabeth Gifford, Nerquis Hall, Wales in 1808.
