Description

A good Georgian mahogany and inlaid secretaire bookcase. The base with 3 drawers and a 2 drawer secretaire all graduated and inlaid with kingwood banding between boxwood stringing. The secretaire drawer opens to reveal a wonderful satinwood interior consisting of 11 drawers, all with original brass pulls, 9 shaped pigeon holes and a baized writing surface. The top of the base with satinwood cross banding and a fine 3 line inlay with boxwood stringing. The bookcase with 2 arched astragal glazed doors with brass strip and further inlaid cross banding and stringing. The interior with 3 original and adjustable shelves. The removable, satinwood and ebony inlaid dentil cornice with a central panel of harebells inlaid into satinwood. In A1 condition, fully restored, cleaned and waxed.
