Description

HERMANN CLEMENTZ (German 1852-1930): a charming and finely painted OIL ON CANVAS in excellent original condition.

It depicts an elegant young lady dressed in finest clothes of the period, and wearing an amazing hat whilst carrying a parasol in her right hand. Signed and dated 1891 in the top right corner.

** Hermann CLEMENTZ was born in Berlin in 1852 becoming a student at the Berlin Academy of Fine Arts 1873-1883, and was a pupil of Anton von Werner. After study trips to Italy and the Near East, he exhibited regularly at Berlin Academic Exhibitions and examples of his work can be found today at Museums in Nuremburg and San Francisco amongs others...
