Description

This very impressive pair of Bergere armchairs are amazing quality & are in lovely original condition. They have just been recovered & are very comfortable. These armchairs are Swedish & are Satin Birch, with wonderful carving all over. Please look at all of the images to appreciate the details. There is also some gilt work on the carvings, which is very subtle & a bit faded. They have very generous proportions, with carved scroll over arms, plus ball & claw feet. I would say they date from around the 1910-20's period. Satin Birch is one of my favourite woods, because it has a lovely glow to it. These chairs still have the original cane, which is still in good condition & is double cane all over.
