Antique French Style Inlaid Rosewood Display Cabinet

1900 - 1920
Description

Very attractive antique French style display cabinet in predominately rosewood, with other woods, inlays & marquetry. It has a double serpentine shaped front & curved sides. The glass follows exactly the same shape too. The rosewood veneers have very strong figuring & the top of this cabinet is also rosewood. There are ormolu mounts all over this piece & the handles are gilt too. It has three adjustable shelves inside & is all lined in the original pale green velvet. There are two drawers below, with marquetry in the middle. I'm not sure of the origin of this piece. It could be French, Italian or even Swedish & I would date it from around the 1920's period. It's in lovely condition, having just been polished & it has a lovely warm colour. There is also a working key.

Height - 60.7",154 cm
