Description

This antique bombe commode has a wonderful shape & superb original colour & patina. There are many different woods & inlays involved like walnut, king wood, fruit woods, maybe rosewood & satinwood. The designs of the veneers are stunning, with parquetry designs & lots of cross banding. I believe it's Swedish, from around the 1880-90's period or possibly even older. It's all solid timbers, including the drawer bottoms & the drawers are nicely dovetailed. The marble top is in good condition with a lovely grain while the gilt bronze mounts & handles have a nice aged look. This piece is in lovely original condition & has a very warm colour.
