Description

Fabulous 18th.c. oak North Wales dresser, produced in the Conwy valley c.1760. With a well proportioned rack featuring five small spice drawers and the elaborately shaped ‘bellied’ sides typical of those produced in and around Llanrwst in the upper Conwy valley. The base has a central bank of drawers graduated in depth and flanked on each side with large shaped and fieled panel doors. Exceptionally well preserved with the original backboards, panels, floor and shelves. The construction throughout is of solid oak. This early, slow grown North Wales timber has an incredible density, resulting in a very heavy piece of furniture, another good indicator of its age and authenticity. Superb condition.

Dimensions: width 67", depth 20", height 83".
