Antique English Engraved Crystal & Sterling Silver Inkwell - 1912

Description

A wonderfully decorative inkwell, you have to look carefully at the photographs to appreciate the wonderful copper wheel engraved decoration on all four sides.

The centre of each panel has a classical Corinthian column topped with an urn overflowing with grapes, ferns and other foliage, this is surrounded with scrolls incorporating hanging bunches of grapes.

The collar and hinged lid is made from antique English sterling silver with a hallmark for Birmingham 1912, so over 100 years old and a true antique example. There is a separate removable glass liner for easy refilling and cleaning. Excellent undamaged condition with a footprint measuring 2 3/4" and standing 3 1/4" tall.
