Puckerings has dated this piece to the 1800s.
The box is in superb condition, inside and out. I think it must have been safely tucked away for many years retaining it's original interior paper and silk lining and the quite wonderful Mother of Pearl sewing implements, all looked untouched, I am uncertain if the sewing tape moves in and out and it really shouldn't be forced being nearly 200 years old. The pearl shell is all in remarkable condition.
Complete with a working key, this is a gem! 9 5/8" x 6 5/8" x 4" tall.
