Antique English Sterling Silver Tobacco Box - Birmingham 1918

Description

A very fine example made from a good heavy gauge of English sterling silver weighing a hefty 2.54 troy ounces or 78.9 grams.

The lid is smartly decorated with all-over engine-tunring. The box is a squeeze action type, opened by firmly squeezing the short sides for the lid to pop open, the lid works perfectly and snaps shut.

The interior is beautifully gold washed or gilded. There are good clear hallmarks for Birmingham 1918.

Measures 3 1/4 " x 2 3/4" - Excellent condition.
