Elegant Antique French Brass Letter Rack or Holder C.1890

Description

A charming late nineteenth century letter rack or holder, a gem to dress the most elegant of desk-tops to store personal stationery or incoming letters.

Made from heavy cast brass, the front and back panels have a central classical bowl or urn filled with fruit, surrounded by foliate scrolls and swags.

The underside is signed J.H. with the French Depose or Registration number 146.

Professionally polished to gleam and in excellent condition, one replaced screw seen on the underside. The footprint measures 7" x 4" and the rack stands 6" to the top of the handle.
