Antique English Sterling Silver & Guilloche Enamel Pill Box

Description

An exquisite example of an Edwardian shaped pill box made from heavy gauge sterling silver and decorated with Guilloche enamel.

The central panel of green enamel showcases the fine engine turning below. This is surrounded by a fine gold border and a thicker white enamel border decorated with small gold dots.

The lid fits well and once opened, reveals a lavishly gilded interior. There is a full English hallmark for the highly collectible Chester assay office and the year 1909. The makers initials are also present for the silversmith, S. Blanckensee & Son Ltd.

Excellent undamaged condition, measuring 1 3/4" x 1 1/8".
