A Stunning Quality Burr Walnut, Purple Heart & Ormolu Victorian Period Planter

Description

A stunning quality burr walnut, purple heart & ormolu Victorian Period planter. Having a rectangular top with rounded corners and beautiful marquetry inlaid roundels. With a central removable panel beautifully veneered in figured walnut and cast ormolu handles, which opens to reveal a replacement aluminium plant liner and surmounted by an ormolu gallery. Having a shaped frieze cross banded in purple heart and with a central oval sevres porcelain plaque to each side. Supported on elegant French cabriole supports with beautifully cast figural ormolu mounts. The legs are again cross banded in purple heart with ormolu beading and cast ormolu sabots. English in the French taste circa 1860

Dimensions: 32" high x 28" wide x 18" deep

Condition: This planter is in beautiful condition, re-polished in our workshops. New re-placement liner
