This stunning rug was made by Timuri tribes in western Afghanistan during the second half of the 19th century. It is in near-mint condition, retains its complete slit-tapestry flat-woven skirts at each end and I have had it superbly washed to bring out the wonderful natural colours. The archaic field design of stylized 'trees of life' is generally found on larger carpets of the tribe - seldom in small rugs like this one. A truly beautiful rug.

Size: 1.83m x 1.09m (6' 0" x 3' 7").
