Antique Italian 19th Century Carved Oak Throne Chair of Neo Classical Design C1860

Superb Antique Italian 19th Century Carved Oak Throne Chair of Neo Classical Design and dating from around 1860. Constructed from solid oak and profusely carved it has a high carved sunburst to the top with a central neo classical figurehead with laurel leaves to either side and above a deep carved frieze and upholstered back rest with carved sides and shell carving to the base. It has upholstered armrests with carved figurative front supports and a deep stuff over seat above a carved skirt. It stands on carved block and turned cup and cover legs with small bun feet and joined by a shaped cross stretcher. It is upholstered in a deep red velvet fabric.

Measures: 50" high x seat height 19" x 23.5" deep x 25" wide
