A stunning antique tea caddy made from solid English Oak and paired with silver plate fittings and hinged lid, dating to the Victorian period, around 1880.

Outside of this cartouche, the lid is beautifully embossed and engraved, slight wear to the embossing over the years, understandably not as crisp as 130 years ago. The silver plated fittings are beautiful including four ball feet, a swing handle to each side and an escutcheon to the front (alas, no key).

The interior has the original two oak lids covering the two tea compartments, one for green tea, the other for black tea.

Excellent condition with very minor wear to the silver plate in a couple of areas, spanning 9" wide (handle to handle), the lid measuring 8" x 5" and the box standing 5 1/8" tall.
